As part of the recently adopted City budget for the upcoming fiscal year, monthly fees for garbage service will see an increase.  Beginning on July billing statements, the monthly fee per green cart will increase from $15 to $20. 

Why the fee increase? In recent years, tipping costs at the Landfill have been increasing, meaning every time the City drops off a truck load of waste, the cost to the City has gone up. The City sanitation crews have also seen increased costs in equipment and maintenance. For several years, the City has done their best to absorb the extra costs, but it is no longer feasible to do so without sacrificing service. 

This fee only applies to green cart garbage service (apartments, businesses, and industries that pay privately for dumpster service will not be impacted). Additionally, the fee does not apply to recycling or bulk waste collection services.
While it is never pleasant to have increased prices, this fee still keeps our costs lower than most surrounding communities and allows us to continue to provide exceptional services to our City residents.
