Al A’Hearn was born and raised in Butler, Pennsylvania. After high school, A’Hearn joined the United States Marine Corp for four years and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. After the service, he attended The Institute of Computer Management in Pittsburgh earning a degree in Applied Computer Programming, Systems and Procedures for Business.

 A’Hearn worked in Columbia, South Carolina as a computer programmer and analyst. While there, he attended the University of South Carolina; majored in computer science and minored in business management. 

 In 1979, A’Hearn moved to Morristown to start LogOn Computer Services for Lakeway Publishers, Inc. where he served as President for 29 years. He was also Lakeway’s Vice President of Production. His accomplishments include developing software for many different industries, including the first interactive online government accounting system used by Hamblen County.

 He has served on several boards, including, Theatre Guild, Friends of Hospice, Senior Citizens Center, and Life Outreach Center and is a hospice volunteer for Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice. He is a spokesperson for We Honor Veterans which is a partnership between The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and The Department of Veterans Affairs. Over the years he has served the Chamber of Commerce in different capacities.

 His wife Debbie is a registered nurse and is a community educator for Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice in Morristown. She serves as the president of the Senior Citizens Center. He has two stepsons and four grandchildren. Al and Debbie attend and serve at Freedom Fellowship in Greeneville.
