The Patrol division is comprised of 4 captains, lieutenants, sergeants and corporals and 41 patrol officers; there are an additional 14 reserve officers.  The divisions daily operations are overseen by Deputy Chief Chris Wisecarver.

The Patrol division is an important component of the organization.  The officers serve the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This is accomplished with rotating shifts.  In 2014, the department implemented 12-hour shifts; there is an average of 13 officers, including supervisors working per shift.

Patrol units are responsible for patrolling 319 miles of roadway to serve and protect the community, and serve as ambassadors to the community. The patrol officer's helpfulness, attitudes and timely response to incidents continues to develop a positive relationship between the citizens of the community and the Morristown Police Department.  The Patrol Division continues to place a strong emphasis on community involvement and ensuring the quality of law enforcement services provided are of the highest standard.
