CNT Negotiating

The Morristown Police Department’s Crisis Negotiations Team was established in early 1995. The purpose of the Crisis Negotiations Team is to supply highly trained, professional negotiators during a critical incident, such as a barricaded suspect or during a hostage situation.

The Crisis Negotiations Team is made up of highly-trained men and women who receive advanced instruction in mental health issues, dealing with people in crisis, and inter-team response with the Morristown Police Department’s Special Response Team.

The Crisis Negotiations Team is recognized as a regional response team by the Council on Homeland Security. This team has been successful in resolving incidents involving barricaded subjects and other critical events.

The Crisis Negotiations Team remains on-call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
