The primary purpose of the Fire Investigations Division is to determine the origin and cause of fires that occur within the City of Morristown.

One of the Division's principal missions is to identify citywide fire patterns and trends. This information is used by the Department to further public fire safety awareness through the Safety Education Division, as well as the effective implementation of fire prevention inspections and fire code enforcement by the MFD Fire Prevention Division and training.

MFD has a close working relationship with the Morristown Police Department and has partnered a Fire/Arson Investigation Team, which has improved the fire investigation, arson detection, and arson investigation capabilities.

Juvenile Fire Setters
This program provides short-term education / intervention programs designed to enlighten parents and children about fire safety and the consequences of fire. It is designed for children ages 2 through 17.
